As proud supporter of the congress, Istion Yachting played an active role in the event. Industry leaders gathered to discuss how Greece can enhance its role in global yachting, exploring opportunities for growth, sustainability, and innovation. The discussions focused on improving yacht management, strengthening maritime infrastructure, and fostering cross-sector collaboration to ensure the long-term success of the industry in Greece and beyond.
John Dimitriadis, our COO, highlighted the importance of specialized training in the yachting sector. He stated:
"We need specialization for yachting crews, shore technicians, and office staff in the fields of yacht brokerage and management. As for public schools, there is no specialization in this field—most people learn on the job. The existing workforce is highly skilled, but it needs to be strengthened with new individuals. This sector offers excellent earnings and prospects, and large, reliable companies are active in it."
The congress also highlighted the importance of nurturing new talent in the yachting sector as Greece strives to maintain its leadership in global maritime tourism. The event underscored the need for collaboration, sustainability, and innovation to ensure continued growth and development in this thriving industry.
