Another edition of MEDYS came to a very successful close following 5 days of prime yachting excellence and with a resounding success reaffirms its place as the mecca of yachting in the Mediterranean!
According to MEDYS president Michael Skoulikidis, this year's show shaped up to be the "best yet" with over 90+ yachts attending in what seemed only as a proud global celebration of yachting in Greece. A wide plethora of commercial superyachts were open to public display to showcase their grandest amenities and palatial comforts proving to first-comers as well as yacht enthusiasts alike that yachting is truly considered the finest example of hospitality in modern world vacation providers.Â
From exquisite lunches onboard our wide selection of yachts ranging from catamarans and sailing yachts to grand motoryachts (aizu, nova, daiquiri, summer fun) to illustrious gastronomical sensations as per the show's chef's competition from our highly-acclaimed chefs, MEDYS know how to satiate even the most delicate palates.
You can't have grade A+ yachting services without some very exquisite dishes.
Arguably one of the most popular & mouth watering events of the Show, Chef's Competition provides the chefs of the attending yachts with a wonderful opportunity: to showcase their skills and bring their creativity to the table in front of the jury of 3 culinary experts. It’s Greek gastronomy at its veritable best. This year we have the unique pleasure to host two pioneers in their respected culinary field awarded with 2 Michelin stars Chef George Papazacharias of Delta Restaurant in Athens accompanying grand Chef Antonio Mellino, from the exceptionally elegant “Quattro Passi" restaurant in Nerano of the Amalfi Coast.
Our very own M/Y Wide Liberty was the grandest example of that feat as it managed to secure the shows #1 award as the best tablescaping decor and 3rd overall winner in the chef's competition.
Of course there's no actual MEDYS without a proper party!
After 3 years of absence, the annual gathering of industry professionals, a supreme fiesta to commemorate the opening of the show, the White Thing Party is back, is LIVE & LIVID. An invitation-only, White only dress code, live-stage party hosted by Istion was a huge success, packed as usual and full of beautiful people!Â
Following last year's success M/Y Wide Liberty hosted a live greek-music party on board which even the rather unfortunate weather couldn't stop. This year's interest was peaked by another highly impactful party aboard our magnificent superstructure M/Y Can't Remember. Elite Solutions International Yacht Provisions & Italian dynasty Ferrari Trento accompanied by the signature delicatessen of Levon Tsertsian hosted a grand party aboard M/Y Can't Remember. Matching the superyacht's head-turning magnitude the party was blooming of natural Italian elegance showcasing the mellow aroma of Ferrari Trento – one of Italy's most treasured sparkling wines that wins you over from the very first sip.
Last but not least the 8th edition of MEDYS was packed with speed meetings!Â
In between countless meetings with field experts, open-doors on a parade of superyachts, prime demonstration of silver service and the marina in Nafplio was busier than ever, blooming with yachting excellence! Our chartering professionals had the unique chance to catch up with industry experts and yachting veterans aboard our luxurious yachts and reinforce our common passion for all-things-yachting in Greece!
