The port of Lefkada, a vital hub for marine activity, recently underwent a significant environmental cleanup. This initiative gathered divers from all around the island and the surrounding areas, including rescue training schools and diving schools. Yachting companies like us also played an active role in this effort, highlighting our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
During the cleanup, divers retrieved an astonishing array of debris from the waters around the floating docks. Among the collected items were supermarket carts, chairs, car tires, and even a heavy umbrella base.
These findings serve as a stark reminder of the waste that can accumulate in our ports and the urgent need for regular maintenance and protection of marine ecosystems.
